Greetings,
Just like the week of Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be the only week of the year that you practice self-love the week of Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be the only week of the year that you practice gratitude.
When I feel overwhelmed by my to-do list (yes, even yoga teachers get stressed out!) one of my favorite tried and true practices that helps me every time is a Gratitude Practice.
Here are a few ways that your Gratitude Practice can look.
Before you step out of bed in the morning think of 10 things you are grateful for. These can include people, places, and circumstances, there is no wrong answer!
When you are in meditation (or in line at the grocery store) do a breathing practice where you inhale and silently say to yourself “for blank” and then exhale and say silently to yourself “I am grateful”. Fill in the blank as many buy cheap xenical no prescription times as you can, you might be pleasantly surprised by how many things you can think of.
This last one is courtesy of Stephanie Snyder, a San Francisco based teacher that will be visiting our studio this October. When you practice the postures arrive in the pose and take a full inhale, then while you are still in the pose on the exhale say out loud what you are grateful for. Make it something different every time.
You can do this in a 10 minute practice and it is powerful to speak and let your voice be heard.
I hope these ideas help you in moments when you feel overwhelmed. Remember that you are not alone and you have amazing tools in your tool belt that can return you back to your truest self which is full of love and light.
Peace,
Alysha
